Job Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic eyewear sales specialist to help start a new, boutique optometry practice. Optical sales, high-end sales and medical experience preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in selecting eyeglasses and contact lenses based on their prescription, preferences, and budget
- Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes, including pupillary distance and frame size
- Adjust frames to ensure proper fit and comfort for customers
- Educate customers on lens options, coatings, and treatments
- Process orders for eyeglasses and contact lenses, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
- Maintain inventory of frames, lenses, and contact lenses
- Perform repairs and adjustments on eyeglasses as needed
- Keep up-to-date with the latest trends in eyewear fashion and technology
Experience:
- Previous experience as an Optician or in a similar role is preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to optometry/ophthalmology
- Familiarity with physiology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
- Proficiency in medical coding and maintaining medical records
- Experience working in a laboratory setting is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and healthcare professionals
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Skills:
- Knowledge of ophthalmic equipment and instruments used in eye examinations
- Familiarity with vital signs measurement techniques
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements and prescription information
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address customer concerns or issues with eyewear fitting or comfort
